Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the successful candidate will fill the full-time position of Senior Security Guard in Calgary, Alberta. The Senior Security Guard is a “hands on” position responsible in ensuring the safety and comfort of all building occupants relating to security and life safety.

If this is your new role, you will:


• Ensure and promote the Security & Safety of all tenants, visitors and contractors
• Assist in administration of security/access control system including disc backups
• Be responsible for maintaining AED/first aid life safety equipment checks as per requirements
• Submit clear, concise and detailed written reports of investigations timely and accurately
• Participates in new tenant briefings
• Provide Fire Warden training as required by Code
• Be responsible for maintaining and updating the Emergency Tenant Contact database
• Responsible for training new in-house and contract security staff
• Be first line contact for all site security involving tenants, contractors, visitors and emergency services 
• Ensure duties and tasks relating to a Security Gurard position are fulfilled during the shift
• Ensure all company policies, standards, core values and the Code of Conduct is observed
• Participate in on-call rotation shifts
• Responsible for conference rooms
• Other duties as assigned

We want to hear from you if you have:

• A current Alberta Security License
• Post secondary education; and relevant designation (CSS) will be an asset
• Minimum of two years experience as a Security Guard
• Certification in First Aid, CPR and Defibrillator; WHIMS trained
• Knowledge of Security Systems, Fire Systems, WPS, and Emergency Response Plan

• Knowledge of the Criminal Code (property and person); strong interviewing and investigative skills
• Knowledge of Operational Awareness of Environmental Regulations and Compliance
• Good writing skills with attention to detail and facts; proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
• Must be observant with the ability to identify potential situations and hazards
• Professionalism, self motivated nature and ability to work without supervision
• Supervisory skills
