Reporting to the Property Manager, the Operations Assistant will be primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of commercial building equipment and the day to day operation of a fully integrated maintenance program, while ensuring that the facility is a safe and comfortable environment.

If this is your new career, you will:

• Monitor, log, program and perform maintenance on the building equipment and systems (building automation, Security Access and Cameras, Lighting Controls and Preventative Maintenance Program)
• Perform general repairs to the interior/exterior of the building as required
• Respond to tenant requests;  take corrective measures in completing tenant work orders as assigned
• Administer files and records, which include processing work orders and purchase orders
• Assist Building Operator in maintaining inventory for filters, fuses, lamps, ballasts, plumbing supplies and HVAC parts
• Respond to emergency calls on a rotational 24-hour basis (pager, cell phone provided)
• Assist Building Operator to ensure Fire Safety Equipment complies with Fire Code
• Liaise with outside contractors to ensure compliance with building rules and regulations ensuring the building systems are not altered or damaged
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We want to hear from you if you:

• Have a minimum of two (2) years of commercial building operations experience
• Have post secondary education in building systems or related disciple in progress
• Are capable of being secured to Government of Canada (secret level clearance)
• Are knowledgeable of building mechanical/electrical equipment, building automation, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, preventative maintenance programs and Building Code and Fire Code
