Paul Finkbeiner, President

Paul is responsible for the overall management and growth of GWL Realty Advisors’ real estate portfolio, including strategic direction, business development, asset and property management and specialized real estate advisory services to pension funds and institutional investors. 

Paul joined GWL Realty Advisors in 1995. Under his leadership, the company has achieved significant growth of more than $13 billion dollars in assets under management, making it one of Canada’s largest real estate organizations.

Paul has over 24 years experience in the real estate industry. Paul holds a Bachelors and Masters of Engineering from Queen’s University, and a MBA from McGill University.

Ralf Dost, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer

Ralf is responsible for GWL Realty Advisors’ asset and property management, investment, finance and portfolio management functions. Ralf joined GWL Realty Advisors in 2000 and assumed responsibility for portfolio management activities for Great-West Life and London Life sponsored real estate segregated funds, as well as various separate account investment programs.


Ralf has over 25 years of real estate industry experience, including positions held with CIBC Development Corporation and Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited.

Ralf has completed a Professional Accounting designation.

Jeff Fleming, Executive Vice President, Investments & Development

Jeff is responsible for stewarding overall client growth initiatives. In this role, he provides leadership, coordination and oversight to both the National Development and National Investment teams across the country. Jeff is a member of the company’s Executive and Investment Committees.

Jeff has over 21 years of experience within the real estate industry of which 16 years has been with GWL Realty Advisors.

Jeff holds a degree in Finance from Brigham Young University (1993), and obtained his CFA designation in 2000. He is a licensed Realtor® in both Alberta and British Columbia.

Don Harrison, Executive Vice President, Business Development & Client Services

Don has overall responsibility for client management, research services and strategy, and new business development initiatives. Don is also a member of the company’s Executive, Investment, and Compensation Committees. Don joined GWL Realty Advisors in 2000, and has held several senior positions within the organization in asset management and development.

Don has more than 30 years of real estate industry experience, including positions held with CIBC Development Corporation, The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited and Royal LePage Commercial Inc.

Don holds a BA (Hons) Political Science from Carleton University.

Steven Marino, Senior Vice President, Portfolio Management

Steven is responsible for the overall management and performance of two open-end, segregated funds and several direct investment accounts.  Steven is a member of the company’s Executive and Investment Committees.

 Steven has 21 years of real estate experience. He joined GWL Realty Advisors in 2000 and has held several positions, most recently Senior Vice President, Investments.

Steven holds a B.A. in Urban Studies (Honours) from the University of Toronto, and an M.B.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University. Steven is a licensed Salesperson in the Province of Ontario.

Anne Morash, Senior Vice President, Multi-Residential

Anne Morash leads GWL Realty Advisors multi-residential team which oversees the asset and property management of over 12,000 apartment and senior housing units across Canada. Previously, Anne was with Primaris REIT leading and implementing its national development strategies, with Cadillac Fairview where Anne was responsible for a number of marquis development projects and with Ivanhoe Cambridge where she held senior development and leasing positions.

Anne holds an Honours BA from Queen’s University, a Masters of Environmental Studies from York University as well an ICD.D from Rotman School of Management. Currently Anne sits on the Governance Committee of the Urban Land Institute and the Board of Toronto’s Dress for Success. Previously, Anne was a Board member of West Park Health Care Centre, Queens Quay West Land Corporation and a founding member of Toronto CREW.

Tanyss Price, CPA, CA, Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Tanyss joined GWL Realty Advisors in November, 2003 and has held the senior leadership positions of Vice President, Portfolio Management and Vice President, Investments.  In her current role as Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, she is responsible for overseeing the organization’s Finance as well as the company’s governance model.
 

Tanyss holds a BCom from the University of Saskatchewan, and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA,CA) designation.

Tom Sullivan, Senior Vice President, Asset Management, Western Canada

Tom is responsible for the strategic direction, oversight and performance of the commercial real estate portfolio in Western Canada including office, industrial and retail properties in British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba.

Tom has been with GWL and GWLRA for 36 years and has broad experience in all aspects of real estate in various investment markets in Canada and the United States. In his most recent position, Tom was responsible for the oversight, performance and governance for a large Canadian institutional client. Over his career, he has undertaken several assignments for industry associations and other organizations including as an active board member and strategic leader.

Tom holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Finance from the University of Manitoba and a Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA, FCCA) designation.

Michele Walkau, Senior Vice President, Corporate Services

Michele Walkau leads the human resources, marketing and sustainability teams and is responsible for directing GWL Realty Advisors strategies in these areas. As a partner to GWL Realty Advisors commercial and multi-residential real estate business lines, the Corporate Services team works closely with leaders across the organization to deliver a full range of HR, marketing and sustainability services and solutions.

Prior to joining GWL Realty Advisors, Michele held various positions at Brookfield Properties Corporation. Michele has over 13 years of commercial real estate experience.

She holds an MSc (Education) from Niagara University in N.Y., a BA (Hons) from the University of Western Ontario, and completed the Advanced Human Resources Management Program at Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto. Michele is a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL).

Glenn Way, Senior Vice President, Asset Management Eastern Canada

Glenn is responsible for leadership, performance and strategic direction of commercial assets in Eastern Canada. The portfolio includes all office, industrial and retail properties in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes.
 
Glenn has 20 years of real estate industry experience and has held leadership positions in both leasing and asset management at GWL Realty Advisors. He was a board member of NAIOP Greater Toronto Chapter from 2011-2013.  

Glenn currently is on the University of Guelph’s (Bachelor of Commerce - Real Estate Program) advisory board and is a co-founder of ‘Swing for the Cure,’ a local charitable initiative. He is a member of the Company’s Executive, Investment and Compensation Committees.
