Building on Strong GRESB Ratings in 2026

GWL Realty Advisors (GWLRA) is pleased to share continued progress in the 2026 GRESB Real Estate Assessment, a global benchmark that helps investors evaluate sustainability performance across real estate portfolios. Both the GWLRA managed portfolio and the Canadian Real Estate Investment Fund (CREIF) increased their scores to 87 and achieved perfect management scores. This marks our fourth consecutive year of GRESB score improvement for these submissions.

CREIF, one of Canada’s largest real estate segregated funds, continues to integrate sustainability into its active portfolio management approach to enhance portfolio quality and support long-term value creation. This includes achieving its first Zero Carbon Certification for 840 Howe in Vancouver. These efforts helped CREIF move up two places within its Canadian peer group (out of 17 participants) and once again earn a 4-star GRESB rating.

This reflects practical improvements across our management programs and building operations, including achieving ISO 14001 certification and expanding utility data coverage. Together, these efforts help us manage environmental risks, enhance portfolio performance, and support resilient, long-term value for our clients and their stakeholders.

Strong performance from the Housing Fund

In its second year of participation, the Housing Fund remains the only Canadian residential value-add fund represented in GRESB and attained a near perfect residential management score. The management score was the highest out of 31 participants in the “Americas/non-listed/value added” category.
