Our portfolio management team is responsible for the overall performance of the assets we manage on clients’ behalf. Clients are assigned a portfolio manager who works directly with them to design a tailored strategy, taking into account their investment targets, objectives and current holdings.
These strategies prioritize cash flow growth, capital preservation and diversification; they are a product of both our on-the-ground experience managing and leasing real estate, and our top-down thinking and research. Our strategies are regularly re-evaluated and adjusted to align with evolving objectives and market opportunities.
Rigorous Performance Tracking and Reporting
The portfolio management team actively reviews client performance, deconstructing asset level, asset class and geographic performance, both by income and capital returns. Their analysis extends to debt strategies, lease expiry and covenant profiles to ensure that portfolio risk is being managed.
Reporting is tailored to meet clients’ governance, frequency and format requirements.
Real Estate Investment Funds
Real estate investment funds managed by GWL Realty Advisors provide a vehicle for pension funds, registered group savings plans and retail investors to gain direct investment in Canadian real estate. We manage three segregated funds, one of which – the Canadian Real Estate Investment Fund No. 1 – is Canada’s largest open-ended real estate fund.
