Celebrating Our 11th HOOPP LEAP Award Win

We are pleased to share that we have won a prestigious HOOPP LEAP Award, bringing our total to 11 LEAP awards over the past seven years.

The LEAP Awards, established by the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), recognize outstanding achievements in sustainability, innovation, and leadership. This year, we received the GHG Management Award, a testament to our environmental stewardship efforts.

Our success is for our standardized approach to decarbonization planning across our managed portfolio, including assets held on behalf of HOOPP. Developed over three years and fully implemented in 2024, our multi-stage framework integrates climate-related transition risk considerations into business planning, investment decisions, and operational strategy. This helps our property management teams incorporate carbon reduction opportunities into budget planning and making operational improvements confidently. It also enables our asset managers to assess long-term value implications, carbon tax exposure, and capital recoverability of both existing assets and new acquisitions.

We extend our thanks to HOOPP for this recognition and their continued support for prudent management of climate change-related risks. We share HOOPP’s ambition to contribute to a low-carbon economy and in reducing emissions from real estate by 2030. Together, we aim to make a positive impact on the environment and the communities we serve.
