Built for the Future: Innovative Design Meets New Building Certification Program

In an announcement made last week, BOMA Canada introduced a new building certification program focused on smart building technology and sustainability. The BOMA BEST Smart Building program, currently in development, features The Livmore Bay & Gerrard as the only residential building in its pilot.

The Livmore Bay & Gerrard opened its doors to its first residents in 2018. Designed with sustainability in mind, the amenity-rich apartment building has already achieved LEED Gold certification. The BOMA BEST Smart Buildings certification program is a natural fit for the building.

BOMA Canada remarks that the “BOMA BEST Smart Buildings will be the industry benchmark, allowing building owners the opportunity to harness the power of smart building technology, managing their buildings in a more efficient and more effective way. The program is a certification that doubles as a management tool, helping owners and managers plan and operate their properties in a manner that drives the bottom line and sustainability.”
